General Safety Measures

  ✓  Before any operation of the charger,please read the equipment manual carefully.
  X  DO NOT operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow,been dropped or otherwise damaged in any way,take it to the qualified service man.
  X  DO NOT disassemble charger.Have it examined by Chloride service engineer.Incorrect reassembly may result in electric shock or other hazard.
  X  DO NOT operate the charger if it has been kept ideal for long time.First run the thermostat for some time to drive out the moisture and then put it in operation
  ✓  Fix the battery charger to a stable surface
  X  DO NOT put the battery charger near heat source.Make sure the free space around the charger is sufficient to provide adequate ventilation and easy access to cable sockets.Ensure all ventilation ports are not obstructed,to avoid the over heating.
  X  DO NOT pour liquids inside the case.Protect the battery charger from ingress of water.
  ✓  Verify that the available supply voltage is matching to the voltage that is stated on the battery charger name plate.
  ✓  Switch off the mains supply & output switch before connecting or disconnecting the links to the battery
  ✓  Verify that the battery to be re-charged corresponds to the voltage stated on the battery chrager name plate
  ✓  In order to avoid voltage drop the output cable diameter must be adequate for the output current
  ✓  Always service the battery charger by an expert,as opening the cover may expose to shocks or other hazards

A) Before starting the job Tool Box Meeting will be Conducted. During Tool Box Meeting job hazards, Proximity hazards, and the precautions to be taken, Will be explained to all workmen and PPE’s tools. Tackles to be checked on daily basis.

B) Before starting the job written clearance will be taken From Authorized person (TSL/ TCE).

C) Safety Supervisor will be deputed at site.

D) Skilled technician / workman familiar to the job will Be deputed for the job.

E) Use of Proper safety appliances like safety shoe, Safety helmet, hand gloves, safety belts, safety Goggles, leg guards etc will be used on daily basis.

F) House keeping will be done on daily basis.

G) Barricading of the area at shop floor level by red Safety ribbon and at deep opening area by GI Sheeting. One signalman will be deputed near Barricading area.

H) Daily safe working programme will be made and daily Permit will be obtain from Dept.





All other safety rules and precaution to be followed as per TSL Safety Norms.



2 Transportation of Materials from IM section to job site A) Damaged truck or trailer.

B) Overloading of materials.

C) Un experience driver .

D) Physical injury.

E) Live road may cause injury.

A) Visual checking the truck / trailer before loading materials, use only proper truck / trailer.

B) The truck will maintain speed of 16Km per/h. & the safety supervisor/trained person to accompany the truck from IM section to site.

C) Over load of materials will not be there.

D) Flagman to be deputed during crossing road to control vehicles.

E) The driver will be known to TSL safety rules.

3 Loading / Unloading Shifting of material (manually & mechanically) A) Improper loading .

A) The loading / unloading Equipments will have test certificate.

B) Proper tools & tackles to be used.

D) Crane will be position on flat & rigid surface trained crane operator will be used.

E) Red safety ribbon / red cloth will be tied up on the projected materials.

F) No one will be allowed to work / stand under the hanging load.

G) Swing area & where loading & unloading takes place have to be barricaded.

E) Good house keeping with proper barricading will be maintained Materials will be kept in clear & safe surface to avoid toppling.

5 Erection & installation of Electrical Panel on ground floor level or at heights (3m-10m) A) Improper handling of panel.

B) Improper use of lifting tools.

C) Fall of materials from height.

D) Insufficient approach.

A) Sufficient skilled manpower will be provided and proper handling with PPEs will be used.

B) The lifting tools to have TC from competent persons of Jharkhamd government and it will be submitted.

C) Lifting arrangements live cranes/chains pulley block to have TC from the competent persons of Jharkhand government.

D) Erection scheme to be submitted prior to erection.

E) Proper approach will be made to start the job.

F) Proper barricading with flagman to be provided.

G) Good house keeping will be maintained.

H) Skilled work men will be engaged for the job.

6 Cable laying on ground floor or at a height. A) inadequate manpower.

B) Fall of man/material from height.

C) Physical injury during handling & cable drum.

A) Sufficient skilled manpower will be engaged to avoid physical injury.

B) To use good platform. To use safety belts & barricading to use proper ladder & scaffolding.

C) Proper hand gloves will be used during cable laying & handling.

D) Gland & socket of required specification will be used and socket will be clamped with proper clamping tools.

E) Only tested & visually inspected tools will be used on job.

F) No job will be done on height by standing on unsafe, insecure & hazardous platform like drum and table etc.

A) Only experienced engineer / supervisor will be engaged for the commissioning of the job. Area will be barricaded as per safety standard. Display board will be kept at site.

C) Proper tools and tackles will be used.

D) Close monitoring & pre commissioning check list to be followed in the tenure of commissioning to avoid unexpected hazard.
